Yeah, get a 2nd bike. Set it up with street tires. Off road tires are meant to be run at a lower psi for good traction on dirt and gravel. Knobbies are perfectly suited for off road. They're made of softer compounds that wear quickly on pavement. Street tires are made of harder compounds to be run at a higher psi to reduce rolling resistance. They generally wear at a slower rate.
