I'm still waiting on new kit day. It's taking forever this year, although Castelli shipping can be up to 8 weeks after the close of the team store...so I still have a couple days at least. I'm excited about it this year, as they took some input from those of use to ride/race off-road and now have 2 different designs. A lighter color for road and a darker color for off-road. 2025's white top/dark grey bottom looked good when new, but my jerseys are now "off-white."
I've been training since September since I wanted to be good for Valley of the Sun stage race. An 8th GC (out of 40-something in 40+) is nothing to write home about but may be the highlight of my season. It is a specialist's race (w stage 1 TT) and guys come across the country for it so I guess I'm a little proud of it. At any rate I'm kinda tired and ready to stop training and racing so hard... Right in time for the kits
. Been a tough season mostly due to illness hampering my training since Lily started preschool right in my base season.
I still love to ride my bike and get tan so the kits will get plenty of usage for me over the summer, just not much in races since I'm kinda wrapped up.
RE: kit color, we had some pretty strong opposition from the road teams with last year's black colorway. Gets too hot, and is poor for safety/visibility on the road. I mostly train in the early morning in my garage but I totally get that so we came up with a lighter colorway this year
