Baldy road is pretty serious business. I driven up it a few times for hiking (Baldy). I kind want to do a backpacking loop over baldy, beers + food at the lodge, stumble into the Cucamonga wilderness and set up camp. Day 2, get some of the lower peaks that are more immediately visible from the IE, down icehouse canyon (purportedly beautiful) back to Manker Flats/the lifts.

Fun fact - I once had a bear in my old Corolla during an overnight camp trip with "the boys" back in the day. Inside the car. At Manker Flat campground at like 2 AM. Fortunately - no one was damaged in the incident, me, the bear, or the Corolla .

Also I have inlaws in Upland that we visit often (north of the 210). So I am starting up at the Cucamonga wilderness often.
