I had an early shoot this morning and I managed to get out of the house ahead of schedule but just as I was Wheeling the bike down the driveway sudden urge to use the restroom hit me. I then had to evaluate. Can I make it 30-35 minutes to the office before using the commode or should I play it safe? I wheeled the bike back into the shed, ran into the house and the whole process in the bathroom erased my time advantage and actually made me about 10 minutes late getting to the office. Needless to say it would have been a disaster I don't think I could have held out.

It was 34° when I originally went out to the shed. It was 38° the second time I went out to the shed and by the time I got to the office it was 50.

Sunny and 68 for the ride home North against the wind. Pretty stiff but not as bad as riding with the rain cape on. I started to pass some guy on a mountain bike with knobby wheels. He looked to be my age you know late '50s to early '60s. As I began to pass he started to keep Pace with me. I dropped down from the hoods to the drops and slowly pulled away.

I don't know what it is about the main commuter. I rarely on the lower portion of the drop bars, but in the last year or two it's gotten more comfortable. I have shrunk 2 in from 5:10 to 5'8 and I wonder if that's part of the deal. I think I'm also more comfortable on the drops on the lightweight felt road bike. 12-speed nishiki road bike and the rockhopper drop bar mountain bike have the bars rotated so that the drops are at an angle, but I'm thinking maybe I. I will try to rotate them and use the drops more on those too.
