Since Jackie has a “friend” who has figured out the cat door, I bought a “smart” cat door so only Jackie can enter the house. You would think these things would be standardized but of course the new door is about 1/2 inch wider than the old one. I need to enlarge the opening by 1/2 inch and the existing border is 2 pieces of steel (? See pic below) I tried heavy duty cutters and a hand held hacksaw but neither worked. I tried bending the metal and it is quite rigid.

I think I need a small power tool to cut this. Will ask my neighbor who is handy, but any comments?
