Even though I was putting out in excess of 300 watts, the guy closed me down and passed - on a damn e-bike. I learned me lesson there, once and for all.
I was watching my HR with interest. My HR zones have changed in the last couple years - lower HR for the same power output and RPE - and I no longer knew what my Aerobic Threshold was. So I kept pushing till I had to pant - 161bpm, about 3 bpm lower than it used to be.
No idea what my MaxHR is anymore. I don't feel like looking for that. The two times I've hit MaxHR, I felt bleah for a day, and I was 25 years younger.
