Accumulate the winners, sell the losers. Or as some investing sage once said, trim your losses and let your profits run.
My biggest bet was buying 1000 AAPL in 1995, when the company's continued existence was in doubt.
My biggest regret was reducing my shares of AAPL as the price rose, because I feared losing the gains in a downturn. Every time the price doubled, I sold half.
After all the stock splits, those 1000 shares would now be 112,000 shares.
