He's got a threadless adjustable stem I believe that's more of what I'm thinking of.
The thing about adjustable stems is they get adjusted to the nearest and tallest position, then they're never adjusted again. You're carrying around an ugly heavy thing that clicks and squeaks, when you could just have bought that shape/size of stem, or a combination of stem and riser bar to put your hands in the same position.
