The thing is that it doesn't sound like fun, and I think I'd rather spend my free time riding. However, that would run the cost right down on re-lacing the current wheel.
That sounds like a good idea, if you're somewhat mechanically inclined - it actually is fun if you do it right.
- Are all of the failed spokes on one side?
- Where did they break?
- Do the spoke nipples turn easily?
You may only need to replace one side of spokes, or it may be advisable to change them all.
