i use crankbros eggs, and the multi directional cleats have saved me from some good amounts of pain...cause sometimes when u start to fall and u panic, haveing you hell come out either way on the pedal is a nice thing to have...ive only have had the bike alnd on me once and it hurt like hell, my one foot was still clipped in and the frame landed square on my knee...

even though they are diff. id go with multi directional, little safer in my mind.

oh and u can adjust some cleats so take less to come out, or more angle...depending.
