re: timbuk2: check the website--some of their bags are still made in SF. I own an old timbuk2 el ocho(size medium), not big enough for my needs.
Now I use baileyworks, superpro model, size large--it is much more comfortable than the old timbuk2. Rests on my shoulders just right, like the buckle in the middle, it is easier to get off my back.
