You've got a strong attitude about it! I'm glad you got a new bike and are back on the road.
I remember when I was a kid and we went into the fish store, we put our bikes in a tangle. We came out and my friends bike was gone, and my front wheel was spinning. He took off on my bike after the guy. I went out the back door of the fish store (a thrill when you 13, because you feel really cool for doing something you ought not to) just in time to see the guy on the bike going down the alley.
Ran as I might, I couldn't catch up, and Eddie had gone the other way.
Never saw the bike again.
That was in the 80's, and the bike was a redline BMX bike. Eddie didn't feel better for a long time.
So, the good part of that story? None, Eddie lost his bike. But, mainly just to tell you that I understand how it feels, and all sympathy. Hope you don't have such a problem with your new bike. And bad Karma to the thief.
