One of them crossed my path and it occurred to me for about an instant to bolt but the bad karma involved doing that was too great. We were actually chuckling about it..... "I'm staying in front of the cars" "OK but stop for the lights....please" I was nice, they were nice, it was nice, and yes I will be more careful.

The officer told me I am allowed to take the lane. yay. I didn't ask him if, as a civie, he'd ever tried to take the lane in DT Toronto.
