I have told this story before...it happened to me last summer. I once bonked on a ride in Philadelphia near the shop where I purchased my LeMond (a Trek shop). I staggered into the shop..it was very hot that day...and kind of wobbled around for a bit. The guys at the shop asked me if I was okay and told me to sit down and cool off in the A/C for a while. Well the Trek rep was there doing his store presentation bit when he asked me about my bike and how I liked it. I told him I loved it. He then asked me if I was okay and I told him I would be fine in a bit. He then went out to lunch and got lunch for the guys in the shop. Then he tosses me a bag with a turkey sandwich, a banana and a quart of OJ.....gratis! You will NEVER hear me bash Trek or their reps. So the above opinion is strictly that of the above poster.....take it for what its worth.
