OK, I checked tonight. It is a 12 speed. Suntour Acushift 2000 rear derailure. Star brakes and brake levers. Says on the seat tube it is designed in USA and made in Taiwan of 502 CroMo main tubing. I guess this is a late 1980's low end road bike. What do you think?

Edit: Oh, and the wheels are 27 inch (not 700c). That surprises me. All other indications are that it is late 1980's, but I figured 27 inch wheels were not being sold by then. It was originally sold at one of the LBS. So, it isn't a department store bike. Looks like it would be one of the lower-end bikes at the LBS.

Edit: Found a decal down by the BB that appears to be a serial number. Starts with 89-. I guess that means it was built in 1989.
