I sent him links to FGG and Sheldon's site, told him I'd built it up myself and that he should do the same conversion dealy. But no, he didn't have the time or "space" to do that. So I sent him links to the Pista, Mark V, 9-2-5, etc-- but those were too expensive. He wanted my bike. I doubt he ever considered that the $150 he offered me would barely cover another cheap wheelset. He said he used to race road bikes and train on fixed. But money don't grow on trees, holmes. And road bikes don't just convert themselves.

I briefly considered offering to build something for him, but then realized that I don't like the guy. I'd be flattered to build a bike for a friend, but I really couldn't see why I'd put out that much effort for Captain Arrogance. Not to mention that the dude probably makes 3x my salary.

wow! 150 bucks! why not? you can get bikes at wal-mart for 150 bucks! DO IT!!!!

yeah, not a very smart dude. or maybe he is and thinks you're not.
