I'd say the distance between the braze and the fork crown on your frame will be big enough to prevent any clash of cables (STI vs front brake), therefore, you should be able to use any brake caliper you want. I have an older frame with a much lower braze (just above the bottom of the head-tube), and there are some brakes that I can't use at all
