mellowdave...which direction are you going on Red Bud? I often use it to get over to Lake Austin Blvd just below the Tom Miller Dam but I get onto it at Forest View Drive (the road where the Water Treatment plant is), which is the "back way" of getting out of my neighborhood. Most of the roads in Westlake Hills make me nervous because they can get narrow and twisty with poor sight lines for cars that are sometimes going too fast. There is no doubt however, that the climb from the dam, through the curves and up the first hill is a complete b*tch!
