I have the 8.0 (same unit without temp.) om my mainstream cannondale. if you pull the zipties tight enough it will stay put on just about any fork. Mine is turned in slightly towards the wheel and it stays just fine. I just went out to the garage and snapped a few pics.
I see how you angeled the unit in towards the wheel. That looks like it might work. I'll give that a try.
