From reading a lot of the posts I have gathered that not all older steel frames are the same. This meaning that they would not support today's modern parts... or am I completely wrong? I was in the process of pricing out a sweet cross check touring bike for my girlfriend. Well we are not in the mood to drop 1300 or so. I was thinking to find a old steel frame and pimp it out with a paint job and so on. What should I look for in a old steel frame so that it will be a easy build? Hopefully I am going in the right direction with my question but if not please feel free to make fun of me
