Bibs are just more comfortable if you ask me.

For really tall guys, check out Bicycle Hub they have a section for Xtra Large clothing.

Right now my favourite brand of bibs are Etxe-Ondo, they
have a chamois that feels like REAL chamois, and the fit
is very good, and their top of the line bib is less than
$125 (what does top of line Assos go for?).
Also hear good things about Santini stuff.
