I have Speedplays and size 47 (around a US 13) wide feet. No "hotspots" as my shoes have a rigid sole, as do most road shoes. I never understand the whole pedal platform thing, because once I'm clipped in, the whole sole is really the platform. Maybe some people use thise pedals with flimsy, flexible shoes?
