Agreed. If I had to vote the whole bill up or down, that line would force me to vote it down.

If a reckless driver hits me while I'm in the roadway but the city has designated a sidewalk path as a bikeway, or if I were using a left-turn-only lane on a road with bike lanes, or if the bike lane contained gravel or sand making it unsuitable for my road bike tires but the jury thinks I should go slower or use fat tires instead, this law would probably prevent me or my family from obtaining damages. The existing law protects the cyclist's rights regardless of where on the roadway he or she is.
