I owned a first gen pair that were not up to par (crank arm snapped off of spindle), but
a) They happily replaced them
and
b) I've heard this issue was fixed in later generations

Other than that they seem pretty economical, at least relative to say, Campy.

edit: crank arm (alu) snapped off spider (carbon), not spindle.
