They dont HAVE to be stolen... I mean, he had em in a storage unit, most wino-ish thieves dont rent storage units to keep stolen wheels in (though I probably would if I was a thief). He also knew they were deep V's.(anyone who didnt know anything by looking at the label wouldve called them "velocity rims", as most people who look at mine do.) and he also know they wouldnt work on a road bike with deraillers. Maybe Im totally wrong, but I like to think the best about people if I dont know all the details.

Also, if you do find the person they really belong to(and maybe prove it with a receipt), it would be considerate for them to reimburse you some of the money, since you did pay 100 bucks for them, and giving you 75 to get their old wheels back is better than paying 260 for new ones.
