I have the NY chain and use the lock it came with. I just dropped my lock while frantically relocating my bike to a lockup out of the rain (I'm studying for midterms on campus), and the shackle separated from the lock body. The bent foot of the shackle has a groove in it where another round piece went, which kept it from slipping out of the lock body. It still locks, but it comes apart when it's unlocked, which is a pain in the ass. Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions for fixing it?
