for eg, the Carbon Cervelo Soloist frame-set only (!!) is on special at Glen Parker Cycles (I assume you're in Perth?) for $5,150, which is $4000 US!http://www.glenparker.com/specials.html

the Time VXRS frame-set retails down here for over $8000, but is occasionally "on special" for $7000 AUS

Does this mean I should get into the grey market smuggling of high end bike frames into Australia? Do you guys have a crazy import tariff on frames, or are the distributors just marking them up by a huge percentage?

At those prices you could pay somebody to fly back and forth between Los Angeles and Sydney with frames in their checked luggage and still make a profit.

Step 1) Buy Cervelo R3 or Soloist Carbon five at a time in Canada
Step 2) Hide in shipment of something else to Australia
step 3) profit
