We're looking to find a motel within 2 hours drive of Chicago that is close enough to a bicycle trail to pedal to. We'd like to find somewhere that would have a place to store the bicycles while we weren't pedaling, and have other interesting stuff to do after we're done bicycling. Do any of you have any advice?
You could try around Naperville, which is about 45 minutes outside of Chicago. I don't live there and have never ridden my bike there. However, my brother-in-law and family live there and he raves about the paved multi-use trails they have there. I've only seen them from the car. Naperville has a nice "downtown" with parks, shopping, and dining.
I'm sure someone else will be along with some better advice.
