Msparks-you may want to look into whether your fork is included in the recall that affected the six from last year.
As for the original question, I think A2 was right. Some of the lower end stuff is ridiculously soft initially and isn't set up well for many riders. I've had much better luck at our shop with Manitous than with RS forks. I prefer the Black Elite Air I've got over my Duke Race as well.
