I always stop & offer help. Nobody's ever needed my help, but I'd appreciate similar concern if I were in a pickle.
The cell phone is my most reliable tool - if the problem isn't fixable immediately, my better half will come to my rescue in our Sion xB. Having the phone with me provides significant psychological comfort. I can also call my wife, tell her "I'll be home in an hour," and be motivated to ride faster than I normally would to arrive on time. The phone's a good thing to bring on a ride.
