I'll email a friend of mine who went through a similar experience. He was at a stop light and all of a sudden felt his bike move lower and lower. He turned around and a woman in an SUV (who was on her cell phone) had hit his rear wheel and tacoed it.

They ended up buying him all new parts to replace everything that broke. Along the way the insurance adjustors tried to say "oh the wheel is a depreciable item so we don't have to pay you the replacement cost". He ended up arguing and eventually got 100% of what he asked for. don't be surprised if they try to dink with you.
