I get a noise from my SPD cleats/clips, it seems to be amost a metal click. I use some bike grease around the opening of the clip and the noise disappears for a few rides, then I repeat.
Had the same clips and cleats for 3 years, all I do is give them a cleaning now and then. Can't beat them.
