strange front hub cone threading

okay so i'm making a set of slick commuting wheels for my girlfriend's cannondale mtb. the donor set of wheels is an alivio parallax set. my issue is the front hub cone. I was going to overhaul it, but upon dissassembly and cleaning, the right side cone has been chewed up by mud. the race/cup is fine, but the cone needs replacing. i found one of my old junker shimano solid axles and took the cone off that, but it is 'loose' or too big. I can't seem to find one in my spare parts bin that fits. it is the type with the dust sheild attatched. anyone know the thread size for a '90s shimano alivio parallax front hub q/r?
