Hi from Silicon Valley
I bought a MTB in '99 when I got to California. Its a Schwinn Mesa GSX. I use to ride it to catch the train to work. I rode it in the Tour de Jour for a metric century. Last year we moved into a house that is 6 miles from work, so as soon as the rain stopped I started commuting with it. I put slicks on the bike several years ago, but its still heavy. I've stumbled across bike forums while researching what kind of road bike I should get. Thanks for all the good info on this site.
