Early break aways are almost always destined for doom, it seems before 50km. So why waste the manpower? Is it show off the sponsors on TV? If so, I would think the sponsors would be much more happy with a stage win than a couple of hours on TV. Besides, we're not all buying agricultural banking accounts, or hearing aids, or even watching discovery channel because of these break aways...
