My cousin hurt his ear drum bad from a wakeboarding fall, but a helmet wouldn't have prevented that, unless of course if had the ear things like yours does. If I had a decent water rail for wakeboarding Id consider a helmet. Acctually probably not, but it would probably be a good idea. Also I've never heard of someone hitting their head on their board, Unless it was a wake skate which dosent have bindings.
