My preferred solvent/degreaser is Naphtha. Highly volatile but haven't found a grease/oil it won't cut through rather quickly. Learned quickly that it will eat the oils from one's fingers. It will also destroy Playtex gloves and latex (surgical) gloves. However, Nitrile gloves seem to be fairly resistant to the stuff (also verified on website cyccommute listed). Work in a well-ventilated area though.
