No you can't. And after you've bonked yourself you'll probably feel like crap for at least three days. Sometimes it can take several weeks to recover fully.
The moral of the story is DON'T BONK.
Now if you just run out of steam that isn't a real bonk and if you're fit enough you can rest for awhile and recover enough to carry on. But bonk is so bad that in one case if I looked up from the pedals my legs would stop moving. To go 12 miles bonked required me to stop every 200 yards or so even though I was only riding at 10 mph.
I should add this as well - we had a teenager who was riding with us. He heard about bonk and thought that he should experience it so that he would recognize the symptoms. We advised him against it but eventually he went on a long ride with us and we didn't watch him closely enough and he didn't eat in order to bring on a bonk.
Well he succeeded and it was so bad that he stopped riding bicycles altogether.
