The truth is you need a new club, this was never 'your club', else you would have had a very different experience.
Riders are supposed to WAIT at the regroup, also sense/check if you've dropped back from fatigue or have flatted and ask you if you need help, want to continue with the group, need to be paced back etc, without making a big deal of it.
Don't know if you're really being a crybaby or not, but one of the benefits of being an adult is that you don't need to be desperate to fit it, can simply walk away and find new friends/club, where everyone does know who Equinox is and is happy that you're with them. All the best, I'm sure you'll find your club soon!
I'm pretty sure I am being a crybaby. It was mostly due to the fact that I wasn't riding well that day. I'm extremely independent. I was a runner for over 20 years and always ran solo. I see the advantages of a group when cycling. On the RARE occasions that I hook up with a group of similar riders, I perform MUCH better that when I ride solo. That gives me a "runner's high" that far surpasses anything I ever experienced as runner. It is just that this bike club social structure is hard for me to figure out. Very cold and unwelcoming. I think the added variable of the "vehicle" might have something to do with it. Some members have bikes that cost more than my car. BTW I've seen the stats. They are not doing well membership-wise. Down over 100 members from last year. Very few new members. The writing is on the wall.
