I'm working on a research paper and part of the assignment is to find a solution to a problem, and to include input from others with the same concern.

Without boring anyone with too many details, the question is how to increase the number of bicycle commuters in order to reduce vehicular traffic and pollution. I believe most people, who might be inclined to commute by bike, don't because they believe it isn't safe.

So if you could wave your hand and change something to encourage more people to commute by bike, what would you do?
