Actually, the point at which the girls flatted was really narrow. We couldn't put our bike's down. John of course, only had to drop the kickstand and was over to help before we could find our tire levers. As his Dad pointed out later - "see, you guys gotta get a kickstand."
Our saddle time was about 7 hours. But it was a leisurely century, we started at 9am, 5 ten-minute rest stops on the way there, 2 on the way back and an hour lunch in Purcerville. We were back around 6pm. I think our average was around 14mph, but the way back was much faster than the way out due to the wind and decline!
I'm actually really proud of this goal being done! I wasn't planning on even trying a 100 until July, but my friends pushed it

Even if there was an hour interruption in the cycling I'm proud. I have opportunities for a fully continous 100 miles with just the quick stops later in the summer - but its good to know that I can still push the pedals after 9 hours. Other goals are 3000 miles by the end of the season, and recently added, cycle touring Austria (5 days) and Southern France (10 days) in June. I'm worried about the touring, cause none of my bikes are geared or prepared to tour, have to buy bags, clothes, maps ... always rushed ...
