They handle better, corner faster, and are softer compound material which means they don't last as long. I get maybe 1750 - 2000 miles out of Pro Race 2's.

I do some fast paced training, group rides but no racing. I also use them to commute once in a while (I do most of my commuting on a mountain bike). I just like how the Pro Race 2's handle. I did try the Michelin Axial Carbons and wiped out in a corner because I'm very used to the super-grip of the Pro Race 2's.

I also tried the Vredestein Fortezza (the ones that go up to 145psi) but that felt like riding on iron bars and they were positively suicidal in the rain (for me, of course YMMV).
