Hi guys, after spending some time searching for that thing's name I can finally verse my question.
Today, I tensioned and loosened my spoke nuts, pretending that I'm truing my wheel (worked actually

), but when I put the wheel back on and have the chain on the largest cog, the dork disc rubs the chain, as the bike is freewheeling. Obviously, I'm not very happy about it.
Reading some threads here, I've learned that a spoke protector isn't necessary on a road bike as long as the RD is properly adjusted. So now I'm thinking of taking that thing off (the disc, not the deraileur), unless I can somehow make it not rub the chain while keeping the wheel true (any suggestions here?). But the problem is that I don't have a cassette removal tool and don't want to buy one (and whatever else I need to get the cassette off). Is there a civil way to get the spoke protector off without removing the cassette? The bike is about a month old, not 10 years old, so it doesn't fall off yet
Many thanks in advance
