i talked to michelle about fixed gears late last year, she was laughing about how many of the shop riders were on them, then right on queue keegan walked in pushing his. i think he was a bit confused about why we both laughed..

+1 on the cross-training though... when the 'until we get leeside' park was up i rode down a few times and its works as a great leg warmup (as did riding my bmx to strathcona when i still had it). though it can take a few secs for your legs to remember that they are on a board rather than a bike.

oh yeah, i'm in australia right now and i just saw your friend marcelle (spl?) in melbourne. he and my brother adam skate together a bit, and drink together somewhat more often. pretty funny coincidence (more so since he and my girl discovered that they were both born in the same tiny town in nova scotia.)

i picked up a new (used) bike down here too so look for the red half-bar-taped beast to be semi-retired. i need some new pedals for it first...
