Thanks for your reply. I've been busy building a recumbent the whole time.

After disassembling and cleaning that torpedo I sprayed all of the internal components with light lube and put the hub back together without tightening anything. It's now in safe storage, waiting for me to turn my attention to it again.

It would be great if you could send me info on the lubes and other thechnical details I may be needing.

I'll also need to purchase a shift lever/grip. I'm not sure any sachs three-speed shifter can do, especially if the shifter was desinged for a front derailer.
