They fit they way they're supposed to. So if you
really are a medium, buy medium.
On the other hand, if you've been buying medium Pearl Izumi and they fit well, then buy a Large.
Pearl Izumi caters to the vanity of the US fat ass market, and labels their clothing one size up. Assos caters to fit cyclists so they size their stuff they way Pearl Izumi used to do 10+ years ago.
