Jeebus. I've had my shimano shoes since about 1994 and they went through a few years of regular abuse with at least one long group ride per week and a bunch of races every year, plus all of the regular riding since then. I'm not using them daily now, but I still rock them on longer rides. The tread is pretty chewed up, but all the seams are holding and the velcro still works perfectly (knock on wood). I guess they don't make 'em like they used to!
