We even have a "ride share" sticky thread which no one uses because no one ever reads it.

It takes a fair amount of effort to post pictures, etc. But why bother!

Seems to me we ought to support each other as we share rides that we do, etc.

Please explain. Mumble, grumble grouchy.

Thanks.
I'm glad you asked because this is a special weekend for me. I purchased my 89 Nishiki, the bike that convinced me to get serious about riding, one year ago this weekend. To celebrate, I'm going to ride the American Tobacco Trail, (Wake County side). It's a 5.5 mile packed gravel trail. There are no steep hills as this is a Rails to Trails conversion, but there are four mandatory stops in each direction. The first time I rode this trail with my sons, we rode 2.5 miles out and returned for a total of five miles. It took about 45 minutes, with water stops, and we were exhausted. Now I ride the entire 11 miles for exercise. This weekend, I want to see how fast I can cover the course. I've purchased a new wrist/stop watch just for cycling. To set a good time, I'll have to hit the trail before the horses arrive. You see, the rules are, all cyclists must stop for horses. After I ride, I'll let you know how it went on the 'share rides' report.
