It does mean better than the pc-48. I had two of them snap. There were cracks at the holes where the pins are. And no, I didn't soak them in Simple green, I cleaned them with diesel. Some low end chains are just rubbish.
BTW, I use, and have had no problems with the higher end (PC-69, 971) SRAM chains.
