Cleat problem
Hello ladies and gentlemen,
So... my left cleat keeps sliding around. I can feel it slide and 'click' when I go through the part of the pedalling motion, the part where you 'scuff your shoe on the floor.' I can also feel it when I'm mashing up hills; jamming on my right pedal with my right foot, and pulling up hard using my left foot to pull up.
I've tried tightening it a few times, and eventually cranking it. The infernal things still move around no matter how tight I crank the bolts into my shoes. This resolved some other peoples cleat problem, but mine still remain...
I'm using Nashbar ATB clipless pedals and some cheapie Sixsixone mtb shoes that I've had for maybe half a year.
This problem started happening maybe a few weeks back, and I've tried quite a few things before I decided to post it here. I've tightened it, and tightened even more to almost a ridiculous amount, checked that it's not the pedal itself, changed the tension settings to low/middle/high and it's definitely my left cleat that's moving around. When you go through the 'scuffing' on the floor motion you can see it slightly move if I'm pedalling at a low cadence, I can also feel it sort of ... slip.
Only thing I haven't tried is applying locktite- good idea? / anyone else have cleat problems like this that they resolved?
Thanks in advance,
William Lam
